The history of the Bay Islands lives in grandmothers, fishermen, old maps, and caves. We write it, film it, and preserve it.
Caribbean Honduras is an island-born creative platform. We research, document and transform the history, culture and nature of the Bay Islands into books, films and recordings that connect and educate, for every audience, on every channel.
Founded in 2017, we are the only platform of our kind in Honduras. We speak from more than fifteen years of research: we are the source, not a commentary on other sources.

People following our story
To preserve, document and share the history, culture and natural richness of the Bay Islands through creative content, educational products and experiences that connect people with the identity of the islands.
To become the national and international benchmark that turns the history, gastronomy and traditions of the Bay Islands into creative and educational products with real cultural and economic impact.
On porches, docks and kitchen tables, we record the stories elders still carry, and we credit every source.
Archives, old maps and caves become books, children's tales, films and recordings.
So islanders, the diaspora and visitors alike can carry the islands' memory with them.

Before a story becomes a book, a film or a recording, we go looking for where it really began. Along the way we rescue old documents, digitise them, and meet people who lived on the islands almost 200 years ago: islanders many don't remember today, who championed the protection of the islands' environment and helped shape migration guidelines to keep the Bay Islands safe.
We share it in person, too. We speak about this work at events and with universities, so the islands' history reaches new audiences.

Founder · Researcher · Island storyteller
A descendant of the first families to settle the Bay Islands of Honduras, Jericca founded Caribbean Honduras to research, record and share the history, language and cuisine of the islands she comes from.
Her work spans books for adults and children, the Bay Islands cookbook, a podcast of island legends, and Hidden Wonders, the documentary series she co-leads with Kirk Hays. She champions what she calls “the other face of tourism”: cultural tourism, rooted in the islands' own stories.
